Android popularity is growing in size. I have an Android phone and in this article I will explain some advantages of using Android instead of some other operating system. There are five reasons in not particular order. So lets get started!
Reason #1: Widgets
Widgets are probably the thing separating iOS and Android regarding the overall experience of the devices. Instead of the iOS look, Android allows you to add little shortcuts to apps on the homescreen. Most apps have a corresponding widget, some more helpful than others. The weather widget is my personal favourite widget, I probably use the widget more than the app. Widgets are an awesome and ubiquitous feature of most Android devices, and as soon Apple copies the idea, Android is in trouble.
Reason #2: Many options
Samsung makes phones, LG makes phones, HTC makes phones, Sony makes phones, Motorola makes phones, all of these companies make phones running the exact same operating system, Android. When in the market for a phone, so many options can be a good, and a bad thing. The fact that all of these companies are constantly competing with each other and thus moving the industry forward is good. The fact that you can have many great options to choose from is also a good thing, but the fact that some of those options may be irrelevant, or unworthy, is a bad thing. When you are looking for an Android device, make sure you look at all the flagships for each respective company.
Reason #3: Syncs with Google account
My Google account is my most powerful asset. I keep apps, movies, magazines, emails, YouTube videos, contacts, google+ and maps all in my Google account. The fact that I can simply sign in to my google account and have all of my information restored is remarkably convenient. If you are a heavy user of Gmail, or any other Google service, Android will definitely suit your needs.
Reason #4: Third party integration
If you don’t like the particular skin, interface or overall look of your android device it is very easy to tinker with the aesthetics. You can root your device or install a launcher which can add many customisable functionalities. Several times I have installed third party services to suit my needs. I can also download apps from different app stores, which has its advantages!
Reason #5: Socially integrated
I almost fell on the floor when Apple released Facebook integration for iOS. Not only does Android have Facebook integration but Instagram, Google+ and pretty much every other social network you can think of! This integration is very helpful when wanting to transport images to your social profile or to a cloud storage service like Dropbox straight from the preinstalled gallery app.

So, these were my five reasons why you should use Android. Since I have only given positive information regarding Android it may seem as though I am saying that there is nothing wrong with it. However, it is quite the opposite, there are many problems with Android, but the point of this article was not to expose the cons of Android, rather the pros.
If you have any of your own reasons for using Android, I would love to hear them!

My personal fave is that you are always synced to your Google Account. Which means your files, maps, contacts, email, media everything is all there in your mobile on your computer and on your tablet. The world is a dot and the dot is Google!:)
